Hopkins Homes has signed up to use Lignacite’s Carbon Buster blocks in its new housing developments throughout East Anglia.
The Carbon Buster, developed by Brandon based businesses Lignacite and Carbon8 Aggregates, captures more carbon dioxide than emitted during its manufacture, making it the World’s first carbon negative block.
Simon Bryan, development director for Hopkins, said: “The use of Carbon Buster blocks helps us reduce our houses’ overall carbon footprint and to meet and exceed existing building codes.
“This is becoming increasingly important to our customers and makes the Carbon Buster an attractive product.
“Another advantage is the service provided by Lignacite, which despite recent explosive growth, is still able to offer short lead times and quickly adapt to market demand.”
The company is able to manufacture 21 million blocks per year.
