A HOTEL in Bury St Edmunds that has been in the hands of its current owner since 2008 is up for sale.
But bookings and staff at The Best Western Priory Hotel, in Mildenhall Road, are said not to be at risk.
The hotel is an 18th century Grade II listed property set in private gardens and grounds.
It is licensed for civil weddings and partnerships and has been awarded two AA rosettes for its food.
Recently refurbished by owner Peter Hobday, it is currently on the market with Christie + Co’s Ipswich office, as a freehold hotel and business, for £2.25 million.
Tim Gooding, of Christie + Co, said: “The Priory Hotel is one of the most attractive country house hotels in our region.”
