It will offer a full range of surgical treatments and services to any business or individual with access to either private health insurance or personal funding.

“We have to recognize that the financial climate we are now in is completely different to what it was when we started in practice 15 years ago,” said Mr Wood.

“The NHS is having to save money and one of the main strategies of the health authorities is to reduce the number of referrals to consultants. That provides an opportunity for the private sector to fill.”

He said the organisations main aim was to allow access to consultants ‘As quickly and easy as possible.’

Edmunsdbury Healthcare works in Partnership with the BMI St Edmunds hospital.

Consultations will also take place at clinics in Stowmarket, Botesdale and Newmarket.
