A SCHEME that makes life easier for people suffering life-shortening illnesses is looking for volunteers in Thetford.
St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Neighbour Scheme needs people to give up their time to help with the small jobs that can be overwhelming when you are ill.
The scheme has already seen success in Haverhill, Stanton, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Sudbury since last year.
Emma Page, hospice voluntary services manager, said: “The scheme has really taken off and now it is time for Hospice Neighbours to expand.
“We know there are people in Thetford who will really benefit from a neighbour’s help, so we now need to find volunteers.”
Scheme co-ordinator Kay Newman will be at the hospice’s Thetford shop on February 2, 4, 10 and 11 to talk about the scheme to potential volunteers.
Anyone interested in making use of Hospice Neighbours or volunteering for the scheme can call Kay on 01284 719638.
