Help for hospital gardens

GREEN fingered staff at West Suffolk Hospital have been given £500 worth of gardening tools and plants to help spruce up the grounds.

Thetford Garden Centre made the donation to the hospital’s gardening club as one of 30 projects it is backing to mark the centre’s 30th anniversary.

The club was set up last year as part of the hospital’s staff wellbeing programme and its 40 members spend spare time working on the hospital grounds.

Lucy Nixon, director at Thetford Garden Centre, said: “The hospital gardening club really caught our imagination. Their plans for the front of the hospital and the Macmillan Garden are really exciting.”

Consultant’s PA Susan Richardson, who set up the club, thanked the centre for its donation.
