HEALTH experts are warning families to be medically prepared over the two four-day bank holidays.
Suffolk NHS warns that with GPs and pharmacies closed for eight of 11 days, those on prescription drugs must ensure they have enough.
It also urges everyone to check they have basic remedies like paracetamol, anti-diarrhoeal medicine, rehydration mixture and indigestion remedies.
For conditions that cannot be treated at home, unless critical or life-threatening, Suffolk NHS says call your GP first. A spokesman said: “If the surgery is closed, you will either get put through to the out-of-hours service or asked to call the service directly on 0300 130 3066.”
