Head injury led to death

An 87-year-old woman who had suffered from dizzy spells died after she sustained a head injury.

Jean Hazell of York Road, Bury St Edmunds, died at West Suffolk Hospital on April 16.

She had been admitted to hospital on March 31 after she was found at home with a head injury.

An inquest into her death heard she may have sustained the injury after passing out while getting up during the night.

Ms Hazell was described by her daughter in law as ‘a kind gentle person’.

Suffolk coroner Dr Peter Dean recorded a verdict of accidental death.
