HAIRDRESSERS from Bury St Edmunds have earned a place in the semi-final of a leading industry competition.

Lynsey Buchanan and Donna Graham, from The Studio, in Churchgate Street, gave one lucky customer a special make-over to enter in this year’s L’Oreal Professional Colour Trophy Award.

Having got through to the eastern region semi-finals, the duo are now preparing to recreate a model look live on stage.

Their model will then have to present the overall look on a catwalk, for which Six Whiting Street, in Bury, will supply the clothes.

Mrs Graham said: “For the hairdressing industry, it’s a huge competition to get through to – if we won, the doors would just open up.”

If successful in the semi-final on March 28, Jo Paige, and Dawn Bignell will join the team for the final.

Winners’ prizes include the chance to style a photoshoot for a leading UK fashion publication and working backstage at London Fashion Week.
