THE boss of a disability charity is to follow in the footsteps of a founder of the organisation by attempting to conquer the Swiss Alps.
Graham Footer, chief executive of Disabled Motoring UK, will recreate the journey made by Denny Denly using the same Argson mobility trike.
Mr Denly, who was paralysed from the waste down, completed the epic trek on the trike in 1947.
Mr Footer, who was born and brought up in Bury St Edmunds but now lives in Scole, Norfolk, will make the trip on Saturday with other campaigners in tribute to Mr Denly and to raise awareness of the charity, which was called Mobilise. They are also lobbying Parliament on the reform of the Disability Living Allowance.
