A NEW graffiti board has been put up in Beck Row to help reduce anti-social behaviour.

The board has been put outside the park on Lamble Close by parish councillor Edward Barnes.

Cllr Barnes said: “I’m trying to get them to use that rather than spray the play equipment.

“If they do a good job I will put a bigger one up.”

Cllr Barnes is trying to organise a graffiti artist from Cambridge to visit and give young people some tips to make the new board look good.

He said: “Everybody complains about graffiti but if it’s done nicely it looks nice.”

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: “Crimes such as graffiti can have a harmful effect on people’s perceptions of their community.

“Suffolk Police support any initiative that can help reduce this sort of anti-social behaviour in the county.”
