THE president of Thetford Golf Club has insisted its future is secure.
A letter was sent to members this week to inform them that the club was carrying out a ‘re-costing’ exercise.
This had sparked fears that the club may struggle to stay open, but Chris Crimmen said that was not the case.
“Like every club in the current climate we have had a lack of new members in the last few years.
“But we are regrouping all our main cost areas and going through an exercise to recost.
“As soon as it is all finalised we’ll let people know,” he said.
The club celebrated its centenary year this year, having opened in 1912, and Mr Crimmen said he hoped the club would be open ‘in another 100 years’.
