Silvermist Majorettes have been spelling their name out in silver as part of a fund-raiser for Cancer Research UK.

The troup which meets in Bury St Edmunds is taking part in the Relay for LIfe at Ickworth on July 27.

The majorettes all brought in silver coins, mainly in 5p pieces, and spelled out their name raising £79.66.

They are also holding a sponsored silence and cake stall and will be running a tombola stall on the day and are aiming for a total of £1,000 in sponsorship.

The Relay for Life will see teams of people undertaking a 21 hour relay at Ickworth House with cancer survivors completing a lap of honour and there will also be a dusk candlelit ceremony. Go to www.relay.cancerresearchuk.org for more and to sponsor the majorettes
