A team of six intrepid climbers have overcome the three peaks challenge and raised £6,000 for a bereavement room at West Suffolk Hospital.

Dave Gooderham, the hospital’s new fund-raising manager, decided to take on Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden to raise funds after his son George was born prematurely and cared for by the hospital.

He was joined by Mark Heath, Stuart Watson, Jack Hines, Matt Steed and Steven Bissett. They are hoping to have raised £3,000 with the climb, which is being match funded by some of their employers.

The £60,000 bereavement room will provide a calm space for families following the loss of a baby. To donate go to www.justgiving.com/georgesgiants
