Children from Hardwick Primary School released 89 balloons on a pretty windy Friday to celebrate the end of their special topic on flight. The event was sponsored by Frames Conservatories Direct.
The Key Stage 1 children were celebrating the end of a half term topic on flight.
Since Christmas youngsters have learned about the history and science of flight. They have heard visitors’ talks on Concorde and the workings of plane engines and also visited Duxford Air Museum. A hot air balloon has also visited the school.
Headteacher Daryl Jones said: “It was a great spectacle to witness all the colours floating off in the winds and we are looking forward to finding out how far they have travelled.”
