FREEMASONS in Suffolk have handed over £2,750 to St Nicholas Hospice Care, in Bury St Edmunds.

The money was raised last year by the freemasons, who have 3,000 members and 66 lodges in Suffolk. It handed over a total of £11,500 to five hospices in the county.

Peter Gosling, provisional charity steward for Suffolk, said: “We wish to pay tribute to the dedicated care that hospices provide in the community and we are delighted to demonstrate our support for services in this way.”

The cheque was presented to the hospice on Tuesday.
