Forty new homes could be built on the site of business land in Barrow, should a housing scheme get planning permission.
Hopkins Homes has applied for permission to build the homes, 11 of which will be for affordable housing, at The Green.
The scheme will see old derelict commercial buildings demolished to make way for the housing.
The developers, in their application to St Edmundsbury Borough Council, say they have already carried out consultation in the village.
“Residents want this land to be redeveloped with an attractive and inclusive scheme which provides integrated affordable housing for local people.”
It added some were ‘fearful of the loss of natural habitat’ home to common toads, as well as the impact of traffic, but said measures are in place to alleviate these concerns.
