A jury at Ipswich Crown Court today has found former speedway world champion Michael Lee not guilty of a charge of sexual assault.

Jury members are due to resume deliberations tomorrow morning on charges of rape, sexual assault and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Lee, co-promoter of the Mildenhall Fen Tigers, was crowned individual world speedway champion in 1980 and rode for teams including King’s Lynn, Poole and Boston.
