The former mayor of St Edmundsbury Cllr Tim Marks raised more than £7,000 for charity during his time in office last year.

Cllr Tim Marks and his wife Margaret presented cheques for £3,600 to St Nicholas Hospice Care and REACH Community Projects Haverhill.

Fund-raising activities included a cheese and wine evening, car boot sale, Zumba Christmas party, Chinese New Year dinner, themed Thai dinner and New Year’s Eve ball.

Mrs Marks also hosted a reception at the West Wing at Ickworth among other initiatives.
