A SERVICES charity has donated £5,000 to St Nicholas Hospice Care in recognition of the work it does for RAF families.
The RAF Benevolent Fund presented the cheque to the hospice, which helps around 280 RAF families each year, at the hospice and in the community.
On Tuesday, Geoff Ware, regional director of the fund, handed over a cheque to Ben O’Hanlon, trusts and statutory funding officer, at the hospice .
This is the first grant the hospice has received from the fund for its work with families.
Mr O’Hanlon said: “Many people do not realise that the hospice is eligible to receive financial support from the RAF Benevolent Fund towards the costs of any RAF family members we support or care for.”
The funding applies to anyone who has served in the RAF, their spouse or partner and children.
The hospice needs to raise £10,000 each day to continue its work in West Suffolk and Thetford.
