A VEHICLE services company in Langham is helping reduce catalytic converter thefts through the sale of a new product.

Fleet Talk, the UK supplier of the American CatClamp, demonstrated the device at a police action day aimed at preventing catalytic converter thefts, which was held in Sudbury earlier this month.

“These thefts are a big problem,” said Kevin Heater from Fleet Talk. “The CatClamp is a device which clamps underneath and has 40ft of cabling to stop thieves. Although they have been on sale in America for five years now, they have only been on sale over here for 18 months.”

Verity Line, crime reduction officer for Babergh said: “We hope that the value of adding a device like the CatClamp to vehicles will help us address the number of catalytic converter thefts in the West of Suffolk.”

Fleet Talk is offering Suffolk residents a £50 discount on CatClamp MAXX through discount code ‘Suffolk’ when bought at www.catsafe.org.uk.
