A close friend of the woman killed in a Kentford house fire two weeks ago has set up a Just Giving page to raise money in her memory.

The inquest on Anne Guinle, 50, of Gazeley Road, was formally opened and adjourned last Friday. Her body was found in the debris of her home after a fire fought by more than 50 fire crew.

Mrs Guinle’s husband Tony, and independent businessman, was treated at West Suffolk Hospital for smoke inhalation and is with relatives.

Business coach Caroline Shore, from Moulton, a friend of the Guinle’s for more than 15 years, said they only recently downsized from Regal Lodge to an annexe.

She added: “This is where they made their lives together, They were very very close. They were a lovely couple.”

Mrs Shore has started a Just Giving page for St Nicholas Hospice Care in memory. She plans a 12 hour spin (exercise bike) marathon for the equivalent of a 180 mile tour of six racecourses.

Mrs Shore said: “She was extremely bubbly and they loved their race horses.“

The Guinles and Mrs Shore were also joint owners of the racehorse Slalom in 2004/5.

The funeral is at Gazeley church at 9.30am on February 28. Visit www.justgiving.com/Caroline-Shore.
