Two crews from Bury St Edmunds were sent to reports of a large container fire at Symonds Farm Business Park, in Risby, last night.
They arrived on scene at around 9.45pm and requested a water carrier due to the difficult access to water supplies.
The container involved was housing about five tonnes of charcoal, all of which was involved in the fire.
Crews used two hose reels and two chromes to fight it.
At around 10.20pm, the container was emptied and a JCB was used to help spread the contents before the water carrier, which was sent from Newmarket, was able to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the blaze has not yet been confirmed. It was brought under control by around 12.05am today.
