COMMUNITY involvement will be at the heart of an event attempting to get people to volunteer.
On Saturday, May 21, Brandon Voluntary Forum will hold a volunteer fayre on Market Place to give people the chance to learn how they can chip in locally.
Sarah Williams, forum corordinator, said: “These days there is so much choice when it comes to volunteering – volunteers can do almost anything and it is a great way to get more involved in the local community.”
A range of groups will be taking part, including photographic groups, carer groups and national organisations such as Mind and the Stroke Association.
Handouts and information will be available from groups, including the Voluntary Network.
Anyone who is interested in promoting their club or organisation at the fayre, or for more information about Brandon Voluntary Forum, contact Sarah Williams on 01842 768367 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The forum is funded by Forest Heath District Council and was set up in June last year.
