FORTUNE telling, face painting, craft stalls and homemade cakes all featured as part of a grand fete held in the Westbury Community Centre, in Bury St Edmunds, on Saturday.
The event was being held to raise funds for the Ahead Club run by Thera East to help people with learning difficulties.
The club meets on Tuesdays and Fridays at the centre and provides somewhere for adults with learning difficulties to meet and carry out activities. It hopes to start running workshops and craft activities for club members.
Benita Bull, operations manager and fete organiser said: “This is the first time we have held this event. We had lots or prizes donated from local businesses for the raffle, for which we would like to say a big thank you.”
The fete raised £2,200 for the charity. “It went really well,” added Benita.
