Housed inside a large polytunnel, the ‘Snake Pit’ will give visitors a close-up look at the reptiles, according to owner Adrian Nuttall.

“They are all harmless and happy to be handled,” he said.

“We’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance the farm for visitors and this was a great use of a redundant polytunnel.”

The snakes join the farm’s growing menagerie, which already includes alpacas, rheas, guinea pigs, rabbit and pigs.

The farm is now looking for volunteers to look after the animals over the summer.

It is also seeking someone with an artistic eye to decorate the new pits.
