Suffolk is performing above the national average for exporting, a quarterly survey has shown.
The results for April to June show that in some areas, exports are at their highest since 2001.
Dr Peter Funnell, president of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, said: “Suffolk firms clearly understand the opportunities that exist to develop their business through exporting.
“Suffolk has excellent international connections, a confident and outward looking business culturee and high quality professional business support.
“The Prime Minister recently suggested that if 100,000 more SMEs started selling overseas they could add £30 billion to the British economy and wipe out the trade deficit.
“While this is ambitious, I am confident that Suffolk businesses are playing their part in this.”
