Mildenhall and District Sea Cadets washed cars and ran games in unseasonably cold weather at Elveden Estate to raise the funds that will keep them all at sea.
The events held on March 23 and March 29 raised £1,260, which will go towards Sea Cadets’ national campaign to replace their flagship T.S Royalist.
All cadets get the chance to go on a week long voyage during which they learn sailing skills and teamwork. When the ship needed replacing the district’s cadets were asked to raise £750, a target they are close to doubling.
The cadets were helped on March 29 by the Royal British Legion Mildenhall branch who ran a tombola.
