STAFF and company bosses at a Stowmarket-based malt company are celebrating after achieving a high ranking in this year’s Sunday Times Green List.

Muntons plc made it to 13th place on the list, the highest ranked East Anglian company and the highest placed food and drink company.

It is the fourth time that Muntons has appeared on the list, which has been running for four years.

Dr Nigel Davies, Muntons manufacturing and technical director, said: “At Muntons we care avidly about our environmental impact and our work on carbon foot-printing has been recognised globally.”

The company was recognised for becoming eco-friendly and for continuously looking at ways to reduce its carbon footprint. Muntons received a green award for its ranking, made from recycled Gordon’s Gin bottles and recycled rusted steel.
