A fast growing Suffolk energy company is helping two local young people build a career within the industry by offering them apprenticeships.
Eighteen-year-olds Katie Bignell and Reece Pemble, both from Stowmarket, have been taken on by Suffolk Installers at Needham Market.

Katie is an apprentice administration compliance officer and Reece is an apprentice assisting the operations manager and compliance team.
They are both working towards a NVQ Level 2 in business and administration during their year-long apprenticeship.
They are given time to carry out the required amount of study during working hours and they are assessed externally by a regional training manager from Key Training.
The two apprenticeships come as Suffolk Installers expand their range of services and a third apprentice is now being sought to train as an energy surveyor.
Alex Fairfull, managing director of Suffolk Installers, said: “I would never hesitate to employ another apprentice and when we have completed their training I intend to see them develop their careers within our company.
“The two apprentices we have started with have been an absolute breath of fresh air. They bring to our company youthful enthusiasm. It is one of the best things we’ve ever done taking them on as we expand our fast growing business. These young apprentices work tirelessly.”
“While I had initially thought that it would take a lot of time to train them, they are switched on, and come to us very computer literate.
“We are teaching them the skills they will need to work within our industry, and they are attending numerous courses, working towards their NVQs.
“I would recommend to any company that they look at taking on apprentices.
“We have also additionally just taken on a 59-year-old sales manager, so we are combining young enthusiasm of our apprentices, with someone with many years of experience in the industry we work.”
Mr Fairfull added: “Their work ethic is a mirror of what I and my colleagues are like. They show the same love of the business and customer service as we do and that is why I am so delighted we have engaged them.”
Suffolk Installers, which was founded three years ago, recently took on eight more employees and merged with Tim Smith Building, of Stowmarket.
It has gained nine industry accolades in a year including an award recognising their efforts to be environmentally friendly.
David Fisher, company director, added: “Empowering young people with the opportunity to be successful in their careers is a crucial part of today’s economy.
“As a business we are always evolving and like the business we are always looking for our team of employees to achieve and be successful in their chosen roles.”
