A NEWLY-ELECTED councillor has promised to bring ‘more positivity’ to a troubled parish authority.
Elaine Mills, 51, of Vincent Close, was voted on to Feltwell Parish Council last Thursday after a closely fought election.
Cllr Mills pipped Terrence Shapland to the vacant council seat by 101 votes to 87.
She said: “I hope that I can bring some positive notes to the parish council’s meetings because it hasn’t been that way recently.”
Cllr Mills said she stood for the seat – vacated by Colin Reeve – after the recent controversy over plans for the council to rent land for a biofuel energy plant.
A further election to replace former chairman Paul Garland has been requested.
