An elderly woman was left shaken after she discovered burglars in her home who stole a large sum of money and a gold watch.
The woman, aged in her 80s, found a man in the kitchen of her home, in High Street, Thelnetham on May 6 at about 4.30pm. He claimed to be from the water board.
She became aware of a disturbance in the hallway and saw two other men. She challenged them and they left by the back door. Nobody was injured but police say the woman was left ‘very shaken’.
The burglars, who got into the house through an unlocked back door, made an untidy search and stole a tin containing a large sum of money and a gold Rotary watch. All three suspects were black and the main suspect is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall, around 30-years-old, with short dark hair. He was wearing dark clothing and his face was partially covered. He spoke with an English accent.
Police want to trace the occupants of a white Audi car with rear tinted windows which was seen in the vicinity around the time. The driver was white, aged in his 20s and wearing a black/red baseball cap and black t-shirt. Call Suffolk Police on 101.
