Fledgling superheroes at Hardwick Middle Sports College lent a helping hand to an ambitious charity appeal involving one of their teachers.

Dressed as costumed crimefighters or wearing their PE kit, pupils at the Bury St Edmunds school took part in a sponsored run in support of a charity bike ride from London to Paris by a team known as Jenny’s Superheroes.

The group of six, which includes Ben Jeffery, head of PE, are attempting the ride today in memory of Jenny Taylor, mother of team member Andy.

They plan to do the last section of the 260 mile ride, in aid of Cancer Research UK, in superhero costumes.
