TWO groups of jet-setting students have broadened their horizons after a trip to some major European cities.
Students from Thetford Academy packed their bags and set off to the continent for a week on May 26 with trips to Barcelona and Montpellier.
Amy Blunt, modern foreign languages teacher, said the Barcelona trip gave students exposure to a new culture.
“It put everything we learn in the classroom into context.
“Many students overcame fears, made lots of new friends and all of them tried different foods and practised speaking their Spanish,” she said.
The trip to Montpellier saw pupils stay with French families and visit the towns of Nimes, Sete and Aigues Mortes. The trip was part of Thetford Academy’s French exchange programme.
