EMBARRASSED drivers came face to face with their potential victims as primary school pupils teamed up with the police.
Law-breaking drivers on The Street, Beck Row, were made to wind down their windows and speak to pupils of Beck Row Primary School as part of police speed checks last Thursday.
Nine drivers were pulled over during the checks, with six exceeding 40 miles per hour and three caught not wearing seatbelts.
Mandy Butcher, the school’s road safety officer, said the traffic outside the school could be ‘ridiculous’ and said it was important safety provisions were made before it was too late.
“Something bad will happen and then something will be done but we want to stop that before it ever happens, “she said.
The children were joined by PCSO Bob Bailey.
