Creative experiments, forensic activities and a visit by Japanese students were among the highlights of a science week at a group of schools.

Barrow Primary, Horringer Court and Westley Middle Schools as well as County Upper, which form the Bury Academy Trust, joined forces to celebrate National Science and Engineering Week.

Activities included a mathematics problem solving morning, pupils learning about forensic science and a visit by representatives from NAPP Pharmaceuticals.

County Upper also hosted a two day visit from Takamatsu Dia-ichi Senior High School - one of five specialist science colleges in Japan.

Alison Earl, head at Barrow Primary, said: “The week has helped to raise pupils’ interest in science subjects which we hope will have an impact on their fututre aspirations.”
