A SCHOOL in West Suffolk welcomed visitors from the Far East.
County Upper School in Bury St Edmunds was picked to show the group from the University of Hiroshima around its grounds.
The lecturers and a government adviser, who were staying in Cambridge for four days, got the chance to speak to head teacher Vicky Neale, enjoyed a tour of the school and met with the heads of history and geography to learn about their education practices.
Anthony Haynes, who was asked to host the group by the UK Government, said: “We asked for a flagship school and we certainly struck lucky.”
Mrs Neale added: “We enjoyed meeting them. We have done this before with groups from China and America.”
