PUPILS at a secondary school are broadening their international horizons thanks to two foreign language assistants.

Cécilia Dalleau, from the French speaking island of Réunion, near Mauritius, has been working at Stowmarket High School since October.

She will remain at the school until the end of May along with fellow assistant Julia Hofer, who is from the German speaking region of South Tyrol, in Italy.

They are helping students learn about their respective languages and cultures.

The pair are at the school as part of a British Council scheme, which will see more than 1,800 foreign language assistants work in UK schools this year.
