Pupils are enjoying thousands of pounds worth of new play equipment thanks to the efforts of a school’s parent teacher association.
The playground at Westgate Primary, in Brooklands Close, Bury St Edmunds, now boasts an activity trim trail, bench and pencil shaped litter bin.
It follows two years worth of fund-raising by the PTA, which raised £5,500 through activities including a quiz night, family bingo, cake and ice-cream sales, summer fete and movie nights.
The equipment cost £3,500 and the association is to use the extra funds towards an outdoor classroom.
Tanya Smith, who organised the new equipment, said: “The children are absolutely loving it. We could set a world record for how many children could go on a piece of equipment at once.”
