Pupils at Risby Primary are dedicating their weekly activity afternoons to broadening their knowledge of Rwandan traditions, crafts and daily life.

The deeper focus follows a recent visist by a teacher from their partner school in the Nyamasheke region of the African nation.

Activities have included painting, bead making using paper, making sports equipment with recyclable materials, gardening and African textile printing.

Liz Wyatt, co-ordinator of humanties, said the work showcases the similarities between the two countries and strengthens their link with the partner school.
