STAFF at a pub and a school have helped to raise funds for projects and orphans in Malawi.

Clare and Graham Hindle, of The Woolpack, in Fornham St Martin, have donated £400 from a charity raffle evening to the Culford School fund-raiser.

Meanwhile, the school’s senior housemaster Gavin Reynolds, who is joining sixth form pupils on a three week trip to Malawi, has amassed more than £1,000 so far by running 1,000km.

After nine months, running 28km a week, he finished his last mile alongside the sixth formers.

During the trip they will work on a range of projects including Nankhufi School and the Good News Orphanage.

Money raised by Culford School has helped pupils to build a school classroom block, work on a youth centre and provide much needed items. To sponsor Mr Reynolds, visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/GavinReynolds
