Three young pupils at Old Buckenham Hall School in Brettenham have raised more than £2,000 to enable Nepalese children to attend school.

And their fund-raising took the form of a massive trek up the Matterhorn Glacier. Harry Moore, eight, and Sam and Freddie Harrison, eight and six, climbed to the Hörnli Hut on the north eastern ridge of the mountain, 3,260 metres above sea level.

With them were their fathers Will Moore from Clare and John Harrison from Rougham. The money raised will send 20 children to school for one year.

Will said: “They had an extraordinary and at times tough adventure which taught them about pushing their limits, not giving up, and sacrificing their own comfort and time to help others.”
