A drop in session is being held for people interested in home schooling their children in Suffolk.
The event is at Bury St Edmunds Library on Saturday June 1 between 10am and 12pm.
Home educated families will be there to offer advice from their own experiences.
Sharon Head, who has educated her three grown children at home, said: ”Children educated at home are not doomed to sitting with workbooks around a table. Families meet together to socialise, to do educational outings and to join in with organised workshops. There are events that range from highly educational to just for fun. There is also a lot of support for home educating families and plenty of opportunity to socialise.”
Mrs Head said that while there is no financial help for home educating the cost is far less than people may think. “With the support of a local group you can have great experiences on a small budget,” she added.
