PUPILS at a Thetford school have been celebrating religion in a special week of activities.

Children at Norwich Road School have been learning about a variety of religions with visits from faith leaders and a range of multi-cultural music and dance activities.

Pat Sodey, music and arts coordinator, said the week had been ‘excellent’.

“The children have learned so much about totally different cultures that they knew nothing about before.

“It’s also been interesting for the teachers involved – we’ve learned a lot too.”

Speakers such as Parveen Aktar, Rev Julian Saunders, Sukhinder Singh and Guyatri Verma visited to speak on Islam, Christianity, Sikhism and Hinduism.

The week was put on as part of the national Celebrating Religious Education project.
