A SCHOOL that has only recently received a multi-million pound windfall is in line to pocket another large slice of funding.
Thetford Academy was granted £18.3 million by the Department for Education in January to develop a single site for the school.
Now Norfolk County Council has put aside £340,000 for the three academies it co-sponsors – one of which is Thetford.
The council’s cabinet discussed where the money would be going on Monday.
Cathy Spillane, acting principal, said: “This investment would be extremely welcome in supporting the academy and community to further improve learning and raise levels of achievement.”
The money is available due to a £475,000 underspend by the county council – something it puts down to the council’s efficiency and that services are provided at the best value for money.
