DVD promotes recycling

A RECYCLING scheme at Suffolk’s network of Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) has diverted more than 2,800 tonnes of hard plastics from landfill in the last two years.

And to help promote it, FCC Environment and Suffolk County Council have produced a DVD, showing the entire process from the HWRCs to the creation of new materials.

Zero Waste expert Karen Cannard, from Bury St Edmunds, was involved in the making of it and will be on hand to answer questions at the Suffolk Show, on June 7, where it will be displayed at the FCC Environment stand.

She said: “It was really exciting to be part of the creation of this DVD as this is a fairly new recycling stream that isn’t widely known about.”
