A COMMUNITY group in Stowmarket is encouraging children to help the environment this Easter by recycling foil from Easter eggs.

Stowmarket Resource Centre is asking children to save all the aluminium foil to help boost recycling targets and raise funds to support the group.

The centre works with adults with learning disabilities to work with local businesses and organisations to collect and process all the aluminium foil.

All the funds from the sale of the metal goes to the group to support its activities.

Ruth Meeke, programme manager from Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation Ltd (Alupro), said: “It is really easy to support the community group, especially at Easter time with all the Easter eggs wrapped in foil, as everybody has recycling facilities and all aluminium counts, however small and however it is collected.”

Foil can be recycled in foil banks around Stowmarket which the group will empty, or at Stowmarket Resource Centre, in Crown Street.

Aluminium can be recycled again and again with no loss of quality. For more information go to www.alupro.org.uk
