DEVELOPERS have renewed efforts to build flats on the site of a former service station in Bury St Edmunds.
Maynewater Developments Ltd has submitted revised plans for 14 flats in two blocks at the Linnet Service Station site.
Previous proposals for the development, in Maynewater Lane, were rejected by St Edmundsbury Borough Council’s development control committee in May.
Councillors felt the block on to Maynewater Lane and a section of the rear block were ‘over dominant’.
A design and access statement from the developer’s agent HighDesign Consultants Ltd said that at a meeting with planning officers last month ‘it was agreed that all the reasons for refusal had been satisfactorily addressed’ following changes to the design of the flats.
