A chance to meet the stars of this year’s exciting pantomime is up for grabs after the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds launched its annual poster competition.
The production of Beauty and the Beast starts in December and to celebrate this year’s pantomime children are being asked to put their creative skills to the test.
Youngsters in three age groups under-8, 8-12 and 13 plus, are invited to create their own poster based on Beauty and the Beast.
They are being encouraged to let their imaginations run riot with pens, pencils, crayons, paints, tissue paper, glitter or anything else to make an eye-catching picture.
The winning poster, chosen from the three age groups by the Beauty and the Beast cast, will go on display at the Theatre Royal, feature in the panto programme and will be seen by more than 22,000 people.
The winner’s prize includes four tickets to the show, a programme signed by the cast, a photograph taken with the cast and a professionally printed version of the winning poster, provided by our sponsors Premier Printers.
Two runners-up will also have their entries displayed in the Theatre during the run of Beauty and the Beast and receive two tickets to the show.
All entries should include the artist’s name, age and contact phone number and be on A4 paper or card.
Closing date for entries is Monday.
All entries should be submitted to: Pantomime Poster Competition, Theatre Royal, Westgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 1QR, or taken to the Theatre Royal box office.
