A tale of murder set amongst the vice and poverty of Victorian London is the first published work of a former Mildenhall dentist.
Martin Kasasian will be signing copies of his debut novel The Mangle Street Murders at Waterstones in Buttermarket, Bury St Edmunds, on December 18.
Mr Kasasian’s detective Sidney Grice has a brilliant mind but little respect for social niceties or other people’s feelings.
The tale of Sidney Grice’s struggle to solve a grizzly murder in the capital city is narrated by his ward March Middleton, a quick witted young woman with a ready sense of humour.
Mr Kasasian said: “Both characters are unconventional people in a highly conventional society with an unorthodox approach to the investigation of crimes.”
Sidney Grice’s second outing as a personal detective is already underway and planned for release in June next year.
