DECKING the Moreton Hall, has helped raise cash for St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds.
Dave Jones, of Kembold Close, set up his own festive attraction, decorating three sides of his home to boost the hospice’s funds. He has been collecting for the hospice for four years and has so far raised more than £2,000.
“I try to make it look different every year,” he said.
“It normally takes me about five or six days to put it all up but I can get them down in a day.
“People make all sorts of nice comments about the lights. They always stop and have a look at the house and at weekends it’s quite busy – some people travel around to look at decorated houses and I’ve had visitors from Thetford and Norwich stop.”
Dave has been building up his display for more than 10 years. He started with a set of icicles on a bay window but the display as grown year on year and now includes a Nativity scene in the front garden.
The lights are switched on every day from 5pm and will be up on display until January 2.
